Criteria for Posting Positions
To list with us, agencies must meet the following criteria:
- Central Oregon non-profit or public agency, serving community or environmental needs (or for-profit agency, such as a hospital, whose purpose is serving a social need).
- Provide service opportunities that fit with students’ learning objectives
- Provide assignments (one-time or weekly basis) that can be completed within one quarter (up to 10 weeks), with the possibility of continuation beyond the term
- Have risk-management procedures in place for injury prevention and liability reduction
- Screen volunteers as needed
The contact person, volunteer manager, or supervisor will:
- Respond quickly to student inquiries and let them know quickly whether they are needed
- Place students in service opportunities that connect their educational goals with agency/client needs
- Ensure that students are properly trained and supervised
- Record student hours
- Communicate with students and/or their teachers on an ongoing basis, particularly with regards to students’ problems and successes
- Assist students to connect their service experience with their learning goals
